## Project Overview

CaLSAM (Content and Language Sensitive Approach to Multilingualism in School) is a three-year EU-funded research initiative that aims to strengthen multilingual education in mathematics teaching. The project develops professional development programs for math teachers, creating synchronous and asynchronous training modules to enable teachers (current and prospective) to incorporate and make productive use of their students' linguistic resources in mathematics learning.

## Recent Activities

### First Transnational Meeting - Bielefeld, Germany (February 2025)
The inaugural consortium meeting took place February 10-12, 2025 in Bielefeld, Germany. The meeting established project foundations, defined work packages and responsibilities, set collaboration frameworks, and planned initial project phases.

### Second Transnational Meeting - Trondheim, Norway (October 2025)
Scheduled for October 9-10, 2025 at NTNU in Trondheim. All European and international project partners will attend to review progress, strengthen collaboration, and prepare the next phases of the project.

### Framework Development
The CaLSAM team is developing a new framework for reimagining multilingualism in European schools. This framework is intended to function as the backbone for future training opportunities and collaborative learning formats while being designed to empower educators, foster inclusion, and open new pathways for teaching and learning.
