# CaLSAM - Content and Language Sensitive Approach to Multilingualism

> CaLSAM is an EU-funded educational research project strengthening multilingual education in mathematics teaching across European schools.

## About

CaLSAM (Content and Language Sensitive Approach to Multilingualism in School) is a three-year research initiative funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ program. The project brings together researchers and educators from six European institutions to develop professional development programs for mathematics teachers.

## Project Goals

- Develop professional development programs for math teachers
- Create synchronous and asynchronous CaLSAM training modules
- Enable teachers to incorporate students' linguistic resources in mathematics learning
- Enhance scientific knowledge about multilingual teaching approaches
- Help educators design language-and-content-sensitive mathematics instruction
